WTH? The cord look fine, the black webbing with a rap ring looked great so let's add a 6 wraps of 20' of webbing to back it up? PSA this is a hot mess and I'd trust the other anchors before this. Of course ice was covering the knots so who knows... 🤷and if you forgot the knife, much better ways to set this up pro and bomber. #jiveassanchors .

Although a quad doesn't technically have a traditional shelf you can place your plaquette device above one of the knots giving you additional room to work and making the belay easier and more comfortable.

Pros: It's higher, less clutter, device doesn't pinch against other carabiners. Cons: "If" a bolt blew the extension would be greater. Anything else? .
